The principles that guide the work of the Nursery are grouped into four themes and are as follows:
Age: 2 - 3 years Places: 6 Child to staff ratio: 1 to 5
Our Cheeky Monkey Room is a warm, safe, and welcoming room, this helps our children feel secure while encouraging them to explore. Low-level furniture and accessible resources allow children to make simple choices and begin developing independence.
Age: 2 - 3 years Places: 7 Child to staff ratio: 1 to 5
Our Happy Hippo's room is welcoming and stimulating to support children's growing independence and curiosity. Resources are stored on low-level so children can easily access and choose toys and activities for themselves, encouraging them to make decisions and develop confidence.
Age: 0 - 2 years Places: 6 Child to staff ratio: 1 to 3
Our cosy baby rooms provides a warm, calm, and nurturing environment where babies feel safe, secure, and valued. Soft lighting, comfortable furnishings, natural colours, and quiet spaces help create a relaxing atmosphere that reduces stress and supports emotional well-being.

We aim for Preschool Panda’s to be an inspiring environment where children grow in confidence, independence, and gaining skills in readiness for school. Through exciting, play-based learning experiences, children are encouraged to make choices, solve problems, and develop the skills they need for their next step in their learning journey.
Age: 2 - 3½ years Places: 8 Child to staff ratio: 1 to 8
Our Jolly Giraffes Term-Time only room for children aged 2-3½ years provides a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can learn through play. With a balance of adult-led and child-initiated activities, we encourage independence, curiosity, and confidence. Children enjoy exploring a range of engaging learning areas, taking part in small group activities, and building positive relationships with their peers and key adults.
At Ark Day Nursery, we are committed to providing an inclusive, welcoming, and supportive environment where every child is valued and encouraged to achieve their full potential. We recognise that children develop at different rates and may require different levels of support throughout their time with us.
Our staff work closely with children and their families to identify and respond to individual needs, adapting activities, routines, and learning opportunities to ensure all children can participate fully in nursery life. We believe that every child has the right to feel safe, respected, included, and successful.
We place great importance on building strong partnerships with parents and carers. Regular communication enables us to share information, discuss progress, and work together to support each child’s learning and development. Parents’ views and knowledge of their child are valued as an essential part of our inclusive approach.
Where additional support is needed, we work collaboratively with relevant outside agencies to ensure children and families receive appropriate guidance and coordinated support. Information is shared appropriately and with parental consent so that a consistent approach can be maintained between the nursery, home, and any external services involved.
Through our inclusive practice, we aim to remove barriers to learning, promote equality of opportunity, and ensure that all children can thrive within our nursery community.
Since Colton has started, he has settled in really well and has made lovely bonds with the staff since finding out that he has SEN needs it made me worry about his development but the support we both received from all the staff I'm please to see that he has come on loads!!! Couldn't be happier ?
I would like to thank all the lovely staff for helping and supporting Jacob, especially through his eating disorder. And to thank all the lovely staff who had helped him come as far as he has become, especially with his speech which has come along tremendously a lot more than he was before he started. A big thank you to all staff! And we will be sad to say our goodbyes on the 27th August. Your help and support over the years has been amazing! You all should be proud of everything you've done ?
We couldn't have asked for a better start to our son's early years. From the moment he joined at just 7 months old until leaving at 4 years old, every member of the team has shown him so much care, patience, and encouragement. The nursery has played such an important role in his development, helping him grow into a confident, kind, and curious little boy who loves to learn. The staff have always been warm, approachable, and genuinely invested in his wellbeing and progress, giving us complete peace of mind every day. We are so grateful for everything you've done over the years and for the wonderful memories you've helped create. We would highly recommend this nursery to any family looking for a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for their child. Thank you for giving our son the very best start in life.,
